First Week Update !

Wow, what a wild week it's been! I've seen the sales rankings on Amazon go up, fall down, rise up again, and rinse & repeat. I've been a bit obsessed with the numbers, and have been refreshing them more than I should, but I saw that I made the top 11,000 overall for "Books" in Canada the other day. It's since dropped a bit. The ranking system pulls no punches.

It's been interesting to see the rankings in categories and sub-categories on a day to day basis. Love to see my book appear on the front page for a few of them, along with high rankings in Amazon's "Hot New Releases" sections. It's appeared in the top 5 and 10 of some of them, even a #1 for a little bit! Hope that kind of thing helps with exposure.

A couple days ago, I started a limited US ad campaign on Facebook. The click rate has been very high, though it doesn't seem to have resulted in many sales. I think it's mostly just riling people up. Eep. This targeted market seems to be just a touch reactionary thus far.

I guess it's good to generate engagement in general, but I wasn't really looking for anyone to call me a Trump-supporting, gen-AI fraud, incel bigot. LOL. I was a little shocked at first after seeing those comments tonight, but it's very, very funny to see people in real life reenacting scenes that I am satirizing in the book. Maybe it will be true what they say - any publicity is good publicity.
