Well, there's no hiding it. I'm in a bit of a rut, to say the least. I've been wasting time these past two weeks for the most part, maybe submitting a story here and there, and trying to remain active on Twitter. I've fallen back into just laying there in bed way too much, letting my thoughts run wild while I do nothing of note. Sometimes it's truly obscene, up to 14 hours. I hate it. But at least I am aware of it and know this needs to change, and soon. I decided to give myself the rest of December to exist as a loser bum. There's not a hell of a lot I can do during the holidays re: employment stuff anyway, as no one will be hiring until the new year. Most days I reluctantly rise in the afternoon, then pop on the Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster on Switch. It was my favorite game as a kid (on SNES as FFIII), and it's been fun to dive into the nostalgia. The story is compelling, and it's very much character-driven. And wow, what an all-timer villain we have here with Kefka! It's been interesting to see how much I've remembered, and which bits I'd forgotten. I'll probably finish the game over the rest of this week, and then perhaps I will shift my focus to my long stack of books that I've been meaning to read. The new PS5 games released this fall are still $70-90, so I'll just wait a bit for the prices to drop some. No Black Friday deals were even remotely enticing.
Book sales are still intermittent, though I did expand into a few more ebook markets by getting Sex Robot into Draft2Digital. My main goal was to get it on Hoopla, which distributes to libraries. We'll see how it goes, but largely this endeavor has been a disappointment. Still hoping some more reviews and word of mouth will help. The positives of this terrible stretch of my existence? I'm baking more. Loaves of bread and batches of cookies, and I'll be baking a pizza before the weekend comes. It's also been nice to give Old Queen Mittens the attention she deserves this close to the end of her life. I know she feels as loved as she is. Well, time to throw on the first episode of the second season of Fallout, one of the best shows I've seen over the past decade. Can't imagine I'll be disappointed !
